My Red Skull Loves Her Black Fire
I discovered this morning my Terra boots that I wore for 5 years exploded in the middle of the night. One boot was a broken wreck. I was baffled by this. Out on the roof, 3 crows flapped and soared through the air just for kicks It was raining but more like drizzle. It was not quite snow yet. It could have turned to snow easily. It was 10 am sharp. The ice patch on the roof now had tiny pock marks. It was almost transparent as glass. A white crusty coastline persisted. Gravel under it was almost sticking out. From the north, a heavy flanged rumble. There was the continuous hissing of cars on the wet road. I’m in love with Anna in this.
6 pigeons took a trip. The overcast sky had pale grey cloud. 7 pigeons went on a short trip. The 8th bird was ahead of the pack. When they got to a certain spot, they hovered for a moment for the 8th one to join them, and then they settled down for landing. The rumble got terrifically loud, almost as alarming as thunder. It hit like crashing waves, with flanged effect. Grey clouds moved over the mountain. It was darker today with wetness, with daubs of white. A light from a house there shone very bright. I’m in love with Anna in this.
2 pigeons flapped overhead, as a duo. I was sitting under the elevator room stair watching this. 3 dark lithe birds headed north. The rumbled continued, but lower. A humid and cold breeze blew. Trees gently swayed. It was not too cold for love writing to my angel. Remaining snow looked like miniature sand dunes carved by the wind but frozen still. Rumbling continued to ebb and flow. A crow cawed. I saw her go. Damp naked trees revealed more brown. The cawing crow flapped and glided. She was close by, and rode the unsettled air. I’m in love with Anna in this.
Large grey cloud masses moved in silence. Aches that I might have felt were subdued. My awareness of it made it melt. The energy of attention when applied to myself exhibited an effective power, as my awareness focused on the immediate experience of sensation. A crow cawed 6 times, briskly and then sped overhead. 3 crows headed to the north responded with some caws. 2 more crows came out from hidden trees, cawing as they flew to join the gang. I could not say my awareness was changing the clouds. They were changing without any help. A 7th crow appeared amid yelping. An 8th crow soared to a larger crow group that I couldn’t see but I could hear their noise. A 9th crow came out and she headed far toward the mountain. I’m in love with Anna in this.
3 crows landed on the top of the shimmering tree. 3 more were perched in a tree nearby. One crow appearing to my side cawing loudly, but she did not join the group. There were 6 crows I could plainly see. 2 of them sat in the shimmering tree while the 4 others took new positions in the other trees beside it. And then the 2 crows joined them. The northern horizon had an orange glow where 2 crows crazily flapped while they cawed, as silhouettes. I turned and saw 3 more crows traveling together above the EMSB. A crow somewhere cawed 4 times. Yes, it was a crow’s neighbourhood adventure this morning. 2 crows were off in the distant southeast. More caws emmited from the trees. There was at least one crow in the sky everywhere I looked. I’m in love with Anna in this.
5 blackbirds fluttered by, making me aware of my black gloves, and Anna’s long black shiny hair. The sky was opaque watercolour wash with pale orange on every horizon. Wet and bare were the trees and they were squeaky clean. I came to my awareness of the power of attention again and saw how it affected my body in an immediate way. I couldn’t stop my fingers from feeling cold, but I could feel the cold more clearly, as if slowly penetrating the regions, making contact with myself. I relaxed amid the strange aeronautic rumble of sound. The rain subsided to the faintest mist. I could see my breath. A seagull swooped past me, real low. My body told me it was cold and time to head in. A crow cawed 5 times. I’m in love with Anna in this.
