My Red Preserver Loves Her Breath Of Life

Blue skies were light with long wispy strands of cloud. Long clusters of it looked like seaweed. The sun was bright. A crow flapped with vigor in the cold air. Shadows were just past 9 o’clock. My watch read 10:35. Uncovered gravel was dry. Crystals from the icy snow shone brightly and still as the stars. Crows cawed in the distance. Clarity returned. Gravel was buried under a rippled patch of ice full of crosshatching and pores of skin. A blackbird fluttered by, making me aware of my black gloves, and Anna’s long black shiny hair. I’m in love with Anna in this.

Distant mountains on the north horizon were visible. Her mountain of love was grey and brown, with the barenaked trees that trailed around. Buildings were coated with white. There was a gaggling group of chirping birds. There were birdcalls around me, as if it were a nice spring morning. Birds called and answered with quick reverb. A jet passed by smoothly. My fingers were cold. The delicate weavings of tree’s branches were like her hair. The shimmering tree was frozen still. There was no movement from any of the trees. Light and dark were at sharp angles but serving together in love. I’m in love with Anna in this.

Sunlight shone on the large ice patch, glaring with brightness, but without mirrored shape. I felt the sun’s warmth for brief seconds. I remained still enough to absorb it. An amblulance passed by with a siren. The second ambulance this morning. It was Wednesday, and I was a tad tired. But before I could think and be self-conscious, I was ready for writing for my heartthrob. I slowly returned to earth. Amid freezing cold air there was healing between shivers. But it was not cold enough for me to leave. There were moments of fun amid remnants of grief. I became aware of sound. I’ve been wanting to play music again. Whenever I play the acoustic guitar for an hour, I feel healing. I’m in love with Anna in this.

There was a low jet plane rumble, and I returned to the soundtrack around me. Birds were quietly chirping amid the wheels of a truck crackling on the icy road. Blue sky was expansive. The sun was warmer now and my body got used to the cold November wind. There was one cloud that was different from the others. It was a small floating brain that suddenly transformed into a crayfish. I saw 2 tiny flashes of light in the cloud. 6 pigeons broke off from a bigger flock, and headed to the north. Milky clouds spread out with the faint texture of sponge. 13 pigeons flew by. The detailed ripples of clouds were like spirals and ghostly white flames. I’m in love with Anna in this.

Suddenly the sky transformed. Long streaky strands of hair were everywhere with plant-like tufts, with feather and fur, in gigantic size. It was amazing. A blackbird sped by, while a pigeon careened in the chill air. My fingers and thumbs said “It’s time to head in.” There was no school for the children today. I’m in love with Anna in this.
