There's no need to fear....Obamazoid is here!

Seriously, the guy steps in a gives 3 pressers in 3 days, announces a team of competent professionals, and the market responds with the first 4-day upswing in many moons.

The bailouts are absurd in their structure, but correct in their intent. Frankly, I'm more in favor of saving our manufacturing base (or what's left of it after years of offshoring) than I am in saving the fuckers of finance, but they are probably both necessary. I just wish we would cut the pretense and just go ahead and acknowledge that we are nationalizing these sectors and move ahead. The fantasy that capitalism is alive and well (at best, wheezing away on life support) needs to die.

In solidarity!!!

Hey, like the theme! Sorry for the changes, sometimes they hurt, but I think this will be for the better in the end.

That's it for now, but I suspect it's not the end.
People are yapping about them buying AOL now, but I think they'll try to appeal to the Yahoo Shareholders first.

Microsoft is facing the beginning of the end of traditional software distribution, and they will desparately need a Google-like portal. That's the bottom line here, not so much revenue from advertisements per se, though that's clearly an important part of the model. So even if it's not Yahoo, it'll have to be something similar, though Yahoo seems the only real contender in this space.

As of 8:45 pm on Saturday, May 3rd, Microsoft has withdrawn its offer to buy Yahoo. I don't know how much credibility to give to Fox News but they are reporting this at this moment. Just go to www.foxbusiness.com to see the story, complete with a copy of the e-mail from Steve Ballmer to Jerry Yang.
