Tomorrow, I will take a sojourn to France for a little R + R. When I bought the non refundable airline ticket several months ago, I had no idea how badly I would be needed in Thomaston during this time period. My band, my Mom, my cats and my stock portfolio need maximum attention from me right now, but I’m not going to eat the cost of this ticket unless the pinched nerve in my neck rages even more painfully than it did on the two hour drive to Atlanta today. I have a variety of anti-inflammatory substances to help me through the nine hour flight, which is the first leg of this journey. If I find a qwerty keyboard over there I will keep you all posted on my daily adventures. If all of the keyboards are french, I will either leave a text message or just wait until I get home next week.

Did any of you ever get into Cheap Trick’s first album in 1977 ? Although this band was eventually tagged a power pop band, their first album was very dark and sinister. In fact, even though it was released over thirty years ago, it expresses the perverted, greedy, sexual, criminal psyche of the modern American public right now. Consider these lyrics from the Cheap Trick song ” Elo Kiddies.”
” So you missed some school; you know that school’s for fools. Today money rules and everybody steals it. You lead a life of crime; you gotta go unwind. You haven’t got much time and now they’re out to get you !”
This week a scandal was uncovered about the AIG insurance group spending a few millions of the taxpayers’ money on a retreat at a $400 a night health spa to work on their financial solvency problems. This company, which insures other insurance companies, was given billions of dollars recently to prevent its collapse. Today, AIG announced that the previously mentioned spa retreat had been cancelled.
Cheap Trick continues to tour constantly so as to make ends meet. The band’s singer, Robin Zander has perfect pitch and does not even know how to sing flat or sharp. The drummer, Bun E. Carlos, is as solid of a drummer that has ever played in a rock band. For a timely album, even today, give the first Cheap Trick album a spin.

It was Thursday night. I had decided that my two cats should be required to learn how to live with each other, in the same house. In they came; into the same room for an entire evening. The one year old cat, Suvy, was a nervous wreck; constantly charging the kitten Ashley in an aggressive manner. Eventually, both cats ended up in my bed, glaring at each other all night long.
On Friday night, Suvy failed to come into the house each time that I called her. Ashley was safely inside. At 10:30 pm, I was ready to go to bed and called Suvy one last time. There was an uncanny silence outside. This was the atmosphere in the yard at the two times that she had been injured and was hiding in the shadows. I grabbed a flashlight and searched the property for Suvy. No luck. I even shined the flashlight into the road to see if Suvy had been run over by a car. I walked inside; shut Ashley in my Mom’s bedroom with my mom; and locked the house.
The next morning, I awoke at 6 am and rose at 7 am. The sun had not risen yet, so, I grabbed a flashlight and searched for Suvy. There was no sign of her anywhere on the property. For the first time, I suspected that she was dead. Then, my next door neighbor’s dogs started barking behind their fence. With much delight, I saw Suvy crawl under the fence and race toward me. She seemed in good condition with no injuries. I let her inside to eat for the first time in over twelve hours. She then joined me on the couch for a sitting. She curled up and fell asleep during the sitting.
Later that day, I brought her some food outside where she had been habitating. As I was feeding and petting her, I heard the meow of an adult cat nearby. I looked for the cat but never saw it. Could Suvy have found a husband overnight ? Something tells me that Suvy has decided to live outside the house and start a new relationship. I also believe that Suvy has no hope for existing peacefully inside the house with Ashley. I want what is best for Suvy and I am grateful that she is alive and well.

Sorry for the leftist post the other day; I had just suffered a big dissappointment. The market had been taken behind the woodshed and been beaten like a red headed stepchild ! It was down 777 effing points ! And today, after the credit markets were finally saved by a bailout bill of 700 billion dollars, the hedge fund managers sold every stock that they could make any sort of profit on. The market tanked from a gain of over 200 points to a loss of, I believe, about 157 points. Oh no, I’m getting started again.
So, to any of you that were offended by my last post, just go buy some Halliburton stock, as an act of protest and you’ll feel a lot better.
