Progress Among The Aged
I would like to give you a progress report on the people that I know who are getting up in years, but still fighting to remain young and active. D. has finally been released from the nursing home after eleven months and is able to live at home and even drive an automobile. Her recovery from her three broken bones was delayed because of a side effect of her diabetes.
Mrs. B. has been moved to an assisted living facility in Columbus, Georgia, which is a five minute walk from her son and daughter in law’s house. She is still recovering from a broken back and hip replacement surgery.
Mrs. M. has been recovering from mouth cancer surgery and is now able to eat solid food. In about one week her doctor will inform her as to whether she will receive chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
Two nights ago, REM performed on the Austin City Limits television show. Their set consisted mostly of new, rocking material. Bill Reiflin was awesome on the drums, with the camera giving him almost as much attention as the original band members.
I wish all of the above the energy to complete their tasks,
I.C.
