My Week
My week has involved more work with this concept of Beginning Again Constantly as Mr. Crimson said in the title to one of his diary entries. Although my beginnings have not been constant, they have occurred several times a day, which isn’t bad. Ideally, I would like to begin each day in this way, but sometimes there are distractions from family members.
My charity work of running audio / video on Thursday night went smoothly and professionally. Both I and the equipment worked properly and the presentation in the fellowship hall was effective. As I mentioned before, the fellowship hall has a p.a. and computer that I am largely unfamiliar with. I normally run sound in the sanctuary, in which I have several years experience. The computer in the f.h. is a new Dell computer with the Vista operating system. The icons look different and are located in different places on the desktop. Also, it seems to go into a low power mode before I can find the start button and start the shut down procedure. So, I just shut the laptop screen and turn off the power strip to the computer. As far as I know, I have not created any problems by handling the situation in this way. When I remove the DVD from the computer, the screen just goes black and the other lights eventually go out… Perhaps I can find time to simply train on the operation of the operating system.
The weather here has been unseasonably warm, with temperatures in the 60s and 70s. Suvy has been able to stay outdoors during the daylight hours and get good quality excersise. Her exercise is chasing birds and squirrels. After a day of this, she is content to come inside and spend the evening with me and my mom.
My mom is having more memory difficulties and more arthritis pain. She is operating less efficiently as a result of these disabilities. In addition to the eight medications that she is already taking, she was given a steroid prescription the other day.
