Panic In Detroit

Filed under: Uncategorized — maxh @ 8:56 am and

And everywhere else in America this weekend as thousands of Americans rush to Apple and AT+T stores to buy and I-Phone, with which to monitor the terror threat in England and also the daily activities of Paris Hilton. It is estimated that 200,000 I-Phones were sold this weekend.
As of 8:00 am this morning, a total of five people have been arrested in the terror probe in Great Britain. Let us hope that this situation has stabilized and that there are no uneccessary deaths at either Wembledon or Wembley Stadium today. Hats off to London Calling for defiantly visiting art galleries in London despite the imminent threat of terrorism issued by the government.
My job related responsibilities will prevent me from monitoring this critical situation until the middle of the afternoon today.
Be safe,
I.C.
1:44 pm I am now back from my soundman / eldercare responsibilities. In church today I had to help assist a 90 year old woman who had an attack of dizzyness during the sermon. My Mom is actually in a greater state of alertness than usual today. I believe that a small quantity of dust has settled between the contact points in channel four of the soundboard. This channel keeps shorting out. Perhaps a few sprays of compressed air will clear out the dust… but more importantly:
The U.K. terrorism investigators now speculate that The Crevice Gang may be responsible for the wave of attempted bombings in England and Scotland this weekend. The Crevice Gang is a group of Islamist radicals who have been trained in Pakistan and are connected to Al Quaida. The unexploded vehicles have fingerprints and DNA evidence on them, which will prove invaluable in tracking these people down and removing them from society. The C.I.A. has aircraft available to take these people to foreign countries where torture and false confessions occur on a regular basis. The word on the street is that the English authorities have politely declined this opportunity… for now.
4:20 pm Heathrow airport has been evacuated ! A suspicious package was spotted at terminal three, leading to the immediate evacuation of the entire terminal. This terminal is the departure point of lots of international flights, including flights to the United States. Some passengers calmly walked to the emergency exits when the evacuation was announced over the airport speakers. Other passengers ran for their lives in the fear and frustration that their plans to safely leave the country were thwarted by a potential bomb in their midst. It is with much relief that I can now announce that within the last few minutes, the package has been determined to NOT be a bomb. There is now a manhunt on in England for a sixth suspect in this ever developing international drama.

  1. Hey…it never even occurred to me not to visit an art gallery! Call it stupidity if you like…

Then again, as a New Yorker, after 9/11/01 one learns a lot about blocking out potential terrorism…a few little car bombs don’t worry me any. Also, Tate Modern is much of a symbol.
