A Drug Buy
No, I did not go buy a bag of weed in a parking lot somewhere. I invested in a small pharmaceutical company with a new product. The company is Dendreon Corp. Their new drug is called Provenge. It is an immunotherapy drug for prostate cancer. On Thursday, a representative from the company gave a presentation at a convention of cancer researchers. During his speech, he dropped a bombshell that is just now beginning to resonate with the medical and investment communities. Provenge has been shown to produce an immune response in the subjects who participated in the most recent trials of this drug. If I am not mistaken, this means that the test subjects were not only cured of prostate cancer but are now actually immune to it ! If I have my facts right, this company has created a way of treating cancer that is as groundbreaking as were radiation therapy and chemotherapy, when they were devised, years ago. So, I bought the stock on Thursday and have watched it go up $5 a share today alone. It would seem that I am not the only one who thinks that this new drug is an incredibly big deal. If this company, Dendreon, uses this same technique to make vaccines for other types of cancer, this company will make a lot of money, as well as help a lot of cancer patients. I need to get back to my stock broker’s web site.
With drug induced excitement,
I.C.
