Hannibal Rising
Don’t believe the bad reviews that this movie is getting; the ones that say that this movie is not as good as Silence of the Lambs. This movie is as good as the previous movies about this Mr. Lecter. This movie becomes intense withing five minutes of beginning and never lets up ! I know one person who will be interested to know that ” lots of things blow up ” in this movie. Lots of people get killed and lots of people deserve it.
The added attraction of this movie is that it delves into the psychoanalytic study of child abuse and how this tragedy has repercussions throughout the life of the victim. After seeing how the Hannibal character gets physically and emotionally tortured in his early childhood, the audience members actually caught themselves cheering Hannibal on as he acts out his unexpressed pain by stalking, capturing, torturing and eventually killing his enemies in life. How sick is that ? After seeing this movie, one can almost empathize with an anti-social personality.
The actors in this movie are all people that I have never heard of, but they enact their difficult roles with enough skill to cause the audient to forget that they are even watching a movie. The camera angles are so perfect that the few times that they are imperfect come blaring out to the viewer. Of course this movie is not for children or the faint of heart adult.
Watch with caution,
