A Little Better
My newly injured left hand has healed a little; but not well enough to rehearse the intergalactic cowboy repertoire. I have been able to practice some of the basic exercises of Guitar Craft, along with Guitar Craft Themes One, Two and Three, which make use of the basic exercises. These three pieces unfortunately push my aching tendons to the limit of their endurance. The intergalactic cowboy repertoire involves some lengthy stretches of the left hand, which are frankly, simply impossible for me to do right now. I am calling this illness tendonitis. It seems to coincide with the symptoms of that disease, as the internet articles describe them. The reason that I have not been to the doctor about this is because the internet articles say that a doctor would only tell me to do what I am already doing, i.e. take Alleve; keep my hand in a hand splint. One article said that tendonitis never completely heals….And I still don’t know exactly which weight lifting exercise did this to me. I did not feel the injury to either hand when the injury happened. The pain only begins after I have rested for a few minutes after the exercise period. For those of you that have never had tendonitis, you would not believe how badly your wrist can hurt, even though it is not even broken !
I have been practicing my vocals along with a rehearsal tape that I made earlier this week.
Wish me luck,
I.C.
