Continuing
My regular week has been continuing throughout this week. I had a traditional Thanksgiving feast with a local family on this past Thursday. The event was rather relaxed until someone handed me a guitar in the old tuning and asked me to play it. I hate it when this happens ! Hmm… Should I try to remember the Strange Hours songs that I haven’t practiced in two months ? Should I try to perform some intergalactic cowboy material without the help of a loop or the new standard tuning ? I suddenly remembered that I had a DVD of myself on the backseat of my car. I asked everyone to wait while I grabbed it. We viewed a couple of songs from it instead of me embarrassing myself in the old standard tuning. Whew !!!
My week since then has been slow paced, giving me lots of opportunities to remember whatever state my mind, body and soul was in. I have had better luck lately transcending this state rather than identifying with it and becoming the emotion along with the accompanying physical tenseness. Did I say that right ? I am saying that after catching myself feeling angry and tense, I rose above it and became alert and relaxed. The goal is to do this several times a day, and even more times than that.
