Work Together?
I shook my head in disgust when I realized today how counterproductive most corporations seem to be structured… or is that slapped together?
I’ve worked places where departments worked hard together with camaraderie and great effectiveness. I’ve worked some other places where departments work hard together, but instead with doubt, suspicion, and a near total lack of effectiveness, turning a seemingly simple task into a horse race of grand proportions.
I leave it to you to decide where this author presently resides.
Does it go both ways? Sure it does!
What causes it? That’s harder to say, but summarised, I’d have to say departmental instability and indecision.
More specifically a lack of effective communication of the above.
In this particular case, it wasn’t just ineffectual communication, it wasn’t even communicated misinformation, it was indecision mixed with poor and incorrect communication.
I’ll leave it at that.
Nothing can tear at an area harder.
