Spinal Fluid!

June 18th, 2008 · No Comments

Tada!  Yes, I do have a spine, and there is, or at least, was, fluid in it.

And here it is for your viewing pleasure.

My back hurts a bit today from where they got it, and my head hurts too… kind of like a bad bit of congestion or something.  It hurts when I laugh, so I’ve been trying to think of things that aren’t funny… no success yet.

I’m on a new medication now, so that should be fun.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy the photo… now, back to work.

The Clickity Clack of Death

June 8th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Well, the computer that saw the primary development of nearly everything that has gone on, (including the podcasts), at Krimson News over the last 4+ years, has finally done the clickity clack of death.  The hard disk went deep six this time, and with the screen having been gone for quite some time, there’s just not really enough there to justify an investment into repairing it.

At this time, I’m running on my uber unreliable old desktop machine which randomly turns off, so I must make this somewhat brief.

Anyone want to take up a collection for their favorite webmaster? :)

Business in the front…

Party in the back.

Call it a technological mullet if you will. :)

Thanks to Zach for taking the shot, it’s remarkably difficult to get a good shot of the back of your head without a mirror.

Changed the batteries this morning, and now, back to work after a tasty lunch.

My Life As A Mummy…

May 28th, 2008 · No Comments

It’s an interesting life being a mummy.  People certainly give crazed stares.  There was a few people doing double takes with looks of, “Huh?”

Then looks of, “Wow!” when they saw the cables coming out of the back of my “head”, or rather, gauze.

Tomorrow morning I get to remove these infernal bandages, and wash my hair of the electrode cement.  It’s all quite itchy, but not really any more than usual… I just can’t scratch it!

Today, we go for tacos, so it’ll be interesting to see reactions there.  Is it twisted to find it so interesting how people react when someone appears to have some grave medical malady?  I find it more interesting when that person is yourself.

Blending of Jeff & Machine

May 26th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Tomorrow I get another set of EEG style probes on my scalp, except that it will be for two days straight they will record everything that my brain does.

I’m sure it’ll be informative, and I suppose I can only hope this will somehow awaken my latent super powers everyone knows that I have.

Certainly, I will get looks from my coworkers.  Let the games begin!

In other news, we sold our now extra car in one day.  How about that?  Take that slow economy! p-chow!

“I have this thing…”

May 15th, 2008 · 2 Comments

It’s my latest excuse, and seems to work for just about anything.

But on a slightly more serious note, I am of course, not allowed to drive for the next 6 months, due to state law.

In honor of this, I purchased a monthly bus pass today.  It’s a fairly substantial hassle to get to the bus station, but, at least it is available.

People keep asking what it was like, but I really simply don’t remember, but I believe I was  somewhat conscious during it, but in a dream state.  Very hard to tell.  I can say that it was a tremendous neurological trauma and only recently have I truly felt “myself”.

Last night at church I gave a testimony, thanking God for timing.  With the wrong timing, I could have been dead several times due to the misdiagnosis I received indicating vertigo, for what I now know are auras or focused seizures.

See, what happens is, I get an aura typically, and if I’m not in enough mental faculty, it can slip out of control and spread to the rest of my brain, causing a grand mal seizure like what happened on Thursday.

So a drastic cutback on stimulants such as coffee and soft drinks is in order.  Not such a bad thing, but I don’t really care to have these things forced on me.

Still hoping to get some copies of the MRI showing the spot, not that I could really point it out, but it’s still a goal.

Sleep study starts next week to make sure I don’t have any sort of sleep disorder which could be causing issues.  How exciting!

In other news, our mutant goldfish is now over a foot long.  For those not in the know, his name is Hannibal, in honor of his ability to eat his tank mates.

My Electrical Personality

May 13th, 2008 · No Comments

My EEG scan is now complete. What a strange test.

No further news, although the peripheral vision in my left eye is kinda wonky. I imagine I’ll be looking at further tests for that soon.

Seizure

May 12th, 2008 · 4 Comments

So, on Thursday morning, I experienced something that I had never experienced before.

A grand mal seizure.

A trip to the hospital and several detailed scans later, and they know a little more about what caused it.

I have a small section in my head that didn’t develop the way it should have.  Many could have told them that.

I am ok, I’m on medication which will hopefully stop the possibility of further seizures, and soon, I will be meeting with the neurologist to figure out what needs to occur next.

Back at work today.  I’m very sore still, but glad to be back in action.

No driving for me until the meeting with the neurologist. :(

Move Completed!

March 27th, 2008 · No Comments

We are now at the new host, the old host having been canceled.  It was mostly painless, but I’m certain that further bugs are possible and likely.

Please let me know if you have any concerns, questions, or needs!

Best Regards-

Whole Wheat Pizza

January 29th, 2008 · No Comments

Is not all that it is cracked up to be… then again, what is it cracked up to be?  Laurie and I had one last night because there was a special on them.  It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good.  I enjoyed it for the toppings, the crust was just out of place.

I suppose that it is supposed to be healthy, but then again it IS pizza, so perhaps that is why it is out of place.
