About
Jonathan Block has been recording and releasing electronic music for over 20 years. He created the term “progressive ambient music” to describe his explorations of the ambient, space and progressive domains. Block was a founding member of the musical collective, the Objective Music Coalition, in 1983 with other musicians who were interested in developing an applied creative practice.
Block’s CDs have been released on labels such as Gears of Sand, Hypnos and Mindspore. His music has also appeared on numerous compilations, and has been featured on many syndicated radio shows, including Echoes and Star’s End. Besides his solo works, Block has also recorded and performed with Dave Fulton, The Circular Ruins and Ben Fleury-Steiner.
Block is also a published poet, with more than 50 poems that have appeared in journals around the world, including Phoebe, The NRG Anthology, The Chiron Review and Riverrun.
