Re: Radiohead

How bizarre and ironical that for me the magic occurred the night while watching them on television, while the stadium gig was, for everyone I have talked to — friends, wife, and next-door-neighbors — life-changing. “Gabba gabba we accept you, we accept you one of us!” I have no doubt about anyone’s experiencing, even my own. Next up, KC in Philly…

Radiohead, In Rainbows, From The Basement

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Tonight, despite my feeble objections, Susan and I watched “Radiohead, In Rainbows, From The Basement” on the DVR.

The kind of energy that was transmitted/liberated/experienced is of a kind I have not experienced since January 26-2005

The quality of the experience is unmistakable, waves of energy cascading through the organism, and even susceptible to memory, an opening in the emotional center. It continued throughout the broadcast, from the first song to the last, making the commercials interspersed (and fast-forwarded through) seem especially ridiculous. The surprise for me was to experience this coming from a source not previously identified.

The kicker: we are scheduled to see Radiohead perform live tomorrow evening in Palm Beach at an outdoor venue.

My feeble objections related to this fact. My objections are dismissed.
