George Hamilton

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

Tonight, while sitting with Susan at the “Genius Bar” at the Apple Store, trying and failing to retrieve my allegedly fixed but not actually fixed computer, a familiar face came in and sat beside us. I noticed him immediately and so did a few staff members, although there was no mob scene. We ended up having a nice chat about technology, kids, et. al. In the parking lot Susan asked who he was, that he looked like someone famous, and was such a nice man, so I told her.

Sacrament of the Smoldering Carrot

Sunday, June 24th, 2007

This morning in a dream, in the streets of NYC, amongst a group of Crafty people, I received a Sacrament. The Sacrament of the Smoldering Carrot. In this scenario, a carrot was plucked from the embers of a fire, and the founder of Guitar Craft delivered the Sacrament by saying “This is your chance”, and as I closed my eyes and opened my mouth, he blew smoke from The Smoldering Carrot into my mouth, “shotgun” style.

Friday Tess Kramer and I shot footage of baobab trees, me talking while driving, me talking beside baobab trees, and Harvey Bernstein (FTBG curator) and I talking next to a baobab, all to create a segment to be submitted to Current TV (currenttv.com). Today we visit the trees in Broward County. Yesterday we hit the big Dade County locales. I also collected some seed from trees I hadn’t before. They’ve received the necessary treatment and are in pots.

Yesterday a recovery day, including lunch with the Kramers at all-you-can-eat sushi. While riding in the car on the outbound leg, iTunes delivered a Bongwater tune, which it took K a few minutes to even realize. He asked me what it was from(!), and I said “The Big Sell Out”, which led to some exclamations of disgust on his part, and some laughter on mine. I said if he didn’t know it was from that he would probably like it.

A Spiral of Spirals

Signs of the times…

Saturday, June 9th, 2007

It’s Saturday night, and the sun has set…

This from last week’s deluge. We had attended an event there some years back, and there were pleas for new members then, and hopeful glances at us, a young family. Alas, an Ex-Baptist and his cabal of Jews would not fill their sails, or coffers:

My Childhood in Two MP3s

Friday, June 8th, 2007

I remember sitting in my grandfather’s recliner on Saturday mornings, watching endless Bugs Bunny cartoons, and especially this one, The Roadrunner Show:

Roadrunner Opening Theme

Roadrunner Closing Theme

Upon closer examination, this is some very strange music indeed. I rediscovered the themes while watching “The Shining”, where they play a small part.

I have been asked back to work some more at the company about which I bitched and moaned last week. Satan laughing spreads his wings. Ha ha ha ha.

New reading, added to continuing reading: “The Ancient Gods” by E.O. James, on top of Guy Murchie’s “The Seven Mysteries of Life”.

I have gifted my wife a small attention exercise to hang her hat on. It involves a habitual speech pattern which was invisible to her, but plays a powerful part in her conversations, you know.

This is a strange, strange time.
