Easter and Granny’s 87th Birthday

Dessert time. Flourless chocolate cake, ice cream, strawberries.

A little closer, please.

Granny with two of her great-grandchildren, Brianna and Henry.

Granny loves angels. This model — a gift from my sister — will make a nice window ornament.

Brianna and Henry.

Sierra and chocolate.

Find the eggs! They’re not really eggs!

The hostess, Susan.
Today’s menu: spiral-sliced ham, collard greens, potato salad and deviled eggs.
Today’s combo Easter and 87th birthday caps, completes, ends, and finishes, an exhausting round of social and work activity, which included a visit from Susan’s New Jersey cousins, and catalog birth. I am mentally and physically fried, and am planning on taking tomorrow as a recovery day. I have unintentionally but necessarily achieved the result of being unable to concentrate on any intentional task with any sort of intensity, like reading a book and following the words and caring what they say. Apparently I am able to compose a diary entry, as it must use a different part of the brain from which the energy has not been wrung out. Perhaps it is therapeutic.
