New Work

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

Yesterday I shot my first panoramic real estate tour, a new approach for me to income earning that is in the hopefully soon-to-be lucrative category. We (friend/realtor & I) have to go back and take some more shots to de-emphasize some construction projects near the premises, but it went well, and I am becoming more familiar with the software.

Last night The Impediments played the Fall Festival at Virginia Shuman Young, our collective kids’ (save one - the bass player’s daughter goes to Catholic school) elementary school. We rocked the joint with loud guitars, brash vocals, and an interesting set of covers. Fun with a big F. Photos will follow. VSY is undoubtedly the coolest elementary school I’ve ever been involved with.

Perspective

I found this on the Weather Underground page about Zip Code 33020:

Length Of Visible Light: 12h 12m
Length of Day: 11h 26m
Tomorrow will be 1m 26s shorter.

“Tomorrow will be 1m 26s shorter.”

I’ve signed up with a virtual tour company to augment my existing business with some real estate business, and I tested their software with shots from Poinciana Park, where I have now planted 16 trees:

Panoramic Tour. Those with Windows Explorer will get a bit of cheeky audio, those without won’t (myself included).

Today I had a vision of myself as others might see me, and it was interesting to see that, unusual, but thankfully not horrifying. To say I am in an interesting period of my internal life would be very accurate.

Susan and Adele are spending the night at Susan’s mom’s tonight so they can rise early for the Susan Komen “Walk For The Cure”. Thanks again to those readers who supported us, and this cause, so very generously.

The Bus…

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

The kids and ourselves have been the beneficiaries of a new bus route which carries them, all of the neighborhood kids who go to the magnet school, and middle school kids who attend another similar magnet nearby, to their destination in Fort Lauderdale. The afternoon route is not working yet, but the morning is going well. Henry announced today that he has some “girl buddies” on the bus, and it is apparent that he is going to the back of the bus and sitting with the middle school girls. His wiles astound me, and he will never want for feminine companionship. The eyelashes help.

Tomorrow morning at 8:15 I meet with a very successful realtor friend to propose work using virtual tour software for her properties shown online. She uses this solution now, with another outlet, but is willing to look at what I have to offer, mainly because of our friendship. I’ll take it.

It proves how out of it I’ve been that I never heard (but I did hear of) this band in the 12 years of their existence, and now they are on “Indefinite hiatus”:

Click on the video link within Henry’s window, and then on “Musical Performances & Interviews” and there is another performance and an interview about 1/2 of the way down. Sorry, there is no direct link.
