Elissa Hadley, 8/27/06
Elissa Hadley, an amazing singer with an astounding, moving voice, who we knew when we lived in Athens, passed away this morning at 1:30 a.m. in a hospice in Atlanta. She was a sweetheart, too sweet for this world.
It was at her persistent insistence that Tom Lewis and his new bride Suzanne had their first date a little over a year ago.

I was a friend of Elissa’s back in college in the early ’90s. I haven’t spoken to her in about 6 years. Do you have any details of her death? I was unaware she was ill.

Elissa was diagnosed with cervical cancer earlier this year, was treated, and released, but the cancer had spread, and treatment did not have the desired effect. I will post details of family wishes, her wishes, as or if I receive them from friends in Athens.
